Por alguna extraña razon tenemos la mania de atribuir a los dias y a los meses alguna dedicatoria. Me explico 19 de marzo (dia del padre), Mayo (mes de Maria). Me imagino que si mayo es mes de maria, junio podra ser el mes de la anfeta, julio el mes de la coca y agosto el mes del costo. Asi todo el mundo se puede pasar un verano muy divertido (y ordenado). Como en el mes de febrero esta el dia 14 (San Valentin), me imagino que sera el mes del amor y todas esas cosas, he "pensado" en poner canciones de amor. Ya se que no hay muchas, hay muchisimas. Intentare no ser empalagoso.

Por fin termina esta "enfermedad" llamada Navidad (de la cual sin duda me he contagiado) Y como es la noche de Reyes, me parece apropiada esta canción. Niños y niñas iros pronto a la cama que si no, los reyes no pasan. Si alguien necesita carbón que mañana me lo pida.

Material Issue "What if I killed you boyfriend?

Material Issue es una banda de power pop de Chicago, que estuvo activa de 1986 al 20 de junio de 1996 (fecha en la que Jim Ellison se suicidó). Material Issue era un trío pero en realidad era Jim Ellison, él era el compositor de todas las canciones de la banda. Si bien es cierto que la banda se formó en el año 1996, no fue hasta el año 1991 cuando publicaron su primer disco "International Pop Overthrow", luego vendrían dos discos de estudio y uno en directo y, por fin el último de ellos: "Telecomando Americano", disco postumo.

Banda que siempre la he considerado de power pop, con  la influencias propias, The Beatles, Cheap Trick, Big Star, The Byrd.

Mención aparte merece el suicidio de Jim Ellison. Como he dicho más arriba Jim Ellison se suicidó el 20 de junio de 1996 tras haber inhalado gases del tubo escape de su vehículo en la cochera de su casa. La policía encontró una nota de suicidio. Las razones por las que Jim Ellison acabó con su vida apuntaron a su malestar con la discográfica (Mercury) y a las pocas ventas de sus discos. Ño cierto es que Material Issue era una banda conocida y apreciada por los que nos gusta el power pop, pero no llegaron a ser famosos ni siquiera dentro de los seguidores del power pop. Resulta curioso que en 1996 los discos de Material Issue estaban de superoferta en una conocida revista de venta de discos por correo (su precio era de unas 1.200 pesetas); pues bien, a raiz del suicidio de Jim Ellison, no sólo el disco postumo también los anteriores pasaron a costar entre 2.500 y 3.000 pesetas. Lo cual no quiere decir que por eso se vendieran más discos de la banda.
