Grupo/Interprete: Dr. Feelgood Canción: Roxette Disco: Down by the Jetty (1975) Estilo: Pop Rock, Pub Rock
Grupo/Interprete: Suede
Canción: Beautiful Ones
Disco: Coming UP (1997)
Estilo: Brit Pop, alternativo, Neo Glam
Grupo/Interprete: New Order
Canción: Age of Consent
Disco: Power, Corruption & Lies (1983)
Estilo: Pop Rock Alternativo, dance alternativo.
Won't you please let me go These words lie inside they hurt me so And I'm not the kind that likes to tell you Just what I want to do I'm not the kind that needs to tell you Just what you want me to
I saw you this morning I thought that you might like to know I received your message in full a few days ago I understood every word that it said And now that I've actually heard it You're going to regret
And I'm not the kind that likes to tell you Just what you want me to You're not the kind that needs to tell me About the birds and the bees
Do you find this happens all the time Crucial point one day becomes a crime And I'm not the kind that likes to tell you Just what I want to do I'm not the kind that needs to tell you
I've lost you [x5] I've lost you [x5] I've lost you [x5]
Grupo/Interprete: Squeeze
Canción: Up the junction
Disco: Cool for the cats (1979)
Estilo: New Wave
I never thought it would happen with me and the girl from clapham out on the windy common that night i ain't forgotten when she dealt out the rations with some or other passions i said “you are a lady” “perhaps” she said. “i may be” We moved in to a basement with thoughts of our engagement we stayed in by the telly although the room was smelly we spent our time just kissing the railway arms we're missing but love had got us hooked up and all our time it took up I got a job with stanley he said i'd come in handy and started me on monday so i had a bath on sunday i worked eleven hours and bought the girl some flowers she said she'd seen a doctor and nothing now could stop her I worked all through the winter the weather brass and bitter i put away a tenner each week to make her better and when the time was ready we had to sell the telly late evenings by the fire with little kicks inside her This morning at four fifty i took her rather nifty down to an incubator where thirty minutes later she gave birth to a daughter within a year a walker she looked just like her mother if there could be another And now she's two years older her mother's with a soldier she left me when my drinking became a proper stinging the devil came and took me from bar to street to bookie no more nights by the telly no more nights nappies smelling Alone here in the kitchen i feel there's something missing i'd beg for some forgiveness but begging's not my business and she won't write a letter although i always tell her and so it's my assumption i'm really up the junction
Grupo/Interprete: Belle and Sebastian Canción: Another Sunny Day Disco: The Life Pursuit (2006) Estilo: Indie Pop
Another sunny day, I met you up in the garden
You were digging plants, I dug you, beg your pardon
I took a photograph of you in the herbaceous border
It broke the heart of men and flowers and girls and trees
Another rainy day, we're trapped inside with a train set
Chocolate on the boil, steamy windows when we met
You've got the attic window looking out on the cathedral
And on a Sunday evening bells ring out in the dusk
Another day in June, we'll pick eleven for football
We're playing for our lives the referee gives us fuck all
I saw you in the corner of my eye on the sidelines
Your dark mascara bids me to historical deeds
Everybody's gone you picked me up for a long drive
We take the tourist route the nights are light until midnight
We took the evening ferry over to the peninsula
We found the avenue of trees went up to the hill
That crazy avenue of trees, I'm living there still
There's something in my eye a little midge so beguiling
Sacrificed his life to bring us both eye to eye
I heard the Eskimos remove obstructions with tongues, dear
You missed my eye, I wonder why, I didn't complain
You missed my eye, I wonder why, please do it again
The lovin is a mess what happened to all of the feeling?
I thought it was for real; babies, rings and fools kneeling
And words of pledging trust and lifetimes stretching forever
So what went wrong? It was a lie, it crumbled apart
Ghost figures of past, present, future haunting the heart
Grupo/Interprete: Orange Juice Canción: Dying Day Disco: You can't hide your love forever (1982) Estilo: Indie Pop
Somebody is whispering
Tongues are a-twisting
My eyes are glistening
Say hello to your débutante
And say bye-bye to true love
I heard your bugle playing
The sweetest music to my eyes
I'm not afraid to say it
I'm close to tears
We'll run away
And I'll always believe
Until my dying day
My dying day
I say I'm not sorry
To cast you off, discourteously
When you talk so realistically
The thrill of love
Has gone for me
I heard your bugle playing
The sweetest music to my eyes
I'm not afraid to say it
I'm close to tears
We'll run away
And I'll always believe
Until my dying day
My dying day
Ooh! Get me away from here I'm dying
Play me a song to set me free
Nobody writes them like they used to
So it may as well be me
Here on my own now after hours
Here on my own now on a bus
Think of it this way
You could either be successful or be us
With our winning smiles, and us
With our catchy tunes and words
Now we're photogenic
You know, we don't stand a chance
Oh, I'll settle down with some old story
About a boy who's just like me
Thought there was love in everything and everyone
You're so naive!
They always reach a sorry ending
They always get it in the end
Still it was worth it as I turned the pages solemnly, and then
With a winning smile, the poor boy
With naivety succeeds
At the final moment, I cried
I always cry at endings
Oh, that wasn't what I meant to say at all
From where I'm sitting, rain
Falling against the lonely tenement
Has set my mind to wander
Into the windows of my lovers
They never know unless I write
"This is no declaration, I just thought I'd let you know goodbye"
Said the hero in the story
"It is mightier than swords
I could kill you sure
But I could only make you cry with these words"
Chance dreams that cut across the bed, leaving colours there instead
See lines that draw it to an end - ignore them
And if I say how I feel again, is it wise to do it?
Or like hearing for the umpteenth time, a song you despise
Don't you fall asleep there's lots of things I need to say that just won't keep
Sweet sweet sweet sweet catatonia, I should have told you (ah ah)
Sweet sweet sweet sweet catatonia, I should have told you (ah ah)
And with my fears in the back of my mind, will they gang up on me?
And when I least expect them to they'll devour me
Don't you turn aside, your tired ears must hear me out - there's nowhere to hide
Sweet sweet sweet sweet catatonia, I should have told you (ah ah)
Sweet sweet sweet sweet catatonia, I should have told you (ah ah)
Don't you turn aside, your tired ears must hear me out - there's nowhere to
hide
Sweet sweet sweet sweet catatonia, I should have told you (ah ah)
Sweet sweet sweet sweet catatonia, I should have told you (ah ah)
Sweet sweet sweet sweet catatonia, I should have told you (ah ah)
(And with my fears in the back of my mind, will they gang up on me?)
Sweet sweet sweet sweet catatonia, I should have told you (ah ah)
(And when I least expect them to they'll devour me)
Grupo/Interprete: Del Amitri Canción: Not where it´s at Disco: Some other suckers parade (1997) Quinto disco. Estilo: Pop Rock Alternativo, Indie Rock
With some girls it don't matter who you hang with
With some girls it don't matter how you talk
And some girls they are easy to be yourself with
But the one girl that I want, ain't easy to please with what I've got
With some girls it don't matter where you're aiming
With some girls it don't matter how you act
And some girls they don't care what car you came in
But the one girl that I want, she wants that one bit of geography I lack
Yeah she, don't want me, 'cos I'm not where it's at
yeah I'm not where it's at
And some girls they will worry about reactions
And some girls they don't give a damn for that
But somehow I ain't ever in on the action
'Cos the one girl that I want, she wants that one little quality I lack
Yeah she, don't want me, 'cos I'm not where it's at
yeah I'm not where it's at
I don't have my finger on, the pulse of my generation
I just got my hand on my heart, I know no better location
Grupo/Interprete: The Bluebells Canción: Everybody´s Someboby´s Fool
Disco: Sister (1984)
Estilo: New Wave, Jangle pop
Grupo/Interprete: Orange Juice Canción: In a nutshell Disco: You can´t hide your love forever (1982) Estilo: New wave, Indie Pop
