Esta canción se encuentra en el último disco de Wilco. La pregunta es: ¿Está agotado el proyecto musical Wilco? Quizás no, pero empieza a dar síntomas de eso. No quiero decir que el disco sea malo, sólo que a ciertas bandas se le exige más por su calidad y trayectoria. Otra cosa es el negocio y es que parece que si no tienes disco nuevo no merece la pena hacer conciertos ... creo que me estoy metiendo en un tema complicado que además no es objeto de este blog.

Una de nuestras bandas indies favoritas, junto con The Drums y The pain of being pure at heart, va a sacar un nuevo disco el próximo 20 de septiembre. El disco se va a llamar Hysterical y por lo que he leído será bastante mejor que el segundo, con más vitalidad y optimismo. Maniac es el adelanto del disco, una canción brillante en sus dos acepciones como adjetivo, la canción brilla y desde luego es sobresaliente.

Detrás de este nombre tan poco original está un duo de San Francisco formado por Christofer Owen y JR White. Influencias del LO-FI y del indie rock de los años 90, esta gente pertenece a esta oleada de bandas de indie rock norteamericanas como The Drums, Clap you hands and say yeah o The Pain of being pure at heart que afortunadamente están aportando grandes canciones y demostrando que las ideas no están agotadas.

Otros que vuelven a publicar un album de estudio tras cinco años de inactividad y en este caso también ha merecido la pena la espera. Para mi gusto uno de los mejores discos de la banda desde "Amazing Disgrace".

Hace algunos post hablaba de 1980 como un gran año para la música con grandes discos, pues bien, dentro de unos años se hablara de 2010 como un gran año, de momento quedan dos meses para que acabe el año y la cosecha se puede calificar de excelente.

Creo que ya he comentado en alguna ocasion que el año 1980 fue un año excelente para la musica. Precisamente de 1980 es "Cocodrile", disco debut de la banda creada en septiembre de 1978 en Liverpool por Ian McCulloch. "Rescue" es, posiblemente la cancion mas conocida de este disco, despues llegaron "Seven seas" y "Killing Moon" entre otras. Neo psicodelia y oscuridad, frente a la New wave. Actualmente esta en activo y su ultimo disco es de 2009.
