Grupo/Interprete: Squeeze
Canción: Up the junction
Disco: Cool for the cats (1979)
Estilo: New Wave
I never thought it would happen with me and the girl from clapham out on the windy common that night i ain't forgotten when she dealt out the rations with some or other passions i said “you are a lady” “perhaps” she said. “i may be” We moved in to a basement with thoughts of our engagement we stayed in by the telly although the room was smelly we spent our time just kissing the railway arms we're missing but love had got us hooked up and all our time it took up I got a job with stanley he said i'd come in handy and started me on monday so i had a bath on sunday i worked eleven hours and bought the girl some flowers she said she'd seen a doctor and nothing now could stop her I worked all through the winter the weather brass and bitter i put away a tenner each week to make her better and when the time was ready we had to sell the telly late evenings by the fire with little kicks inside her This morning at four fifty i took her rather nifty down to an incubator where thirty minutes later she gave birth to a daughter within a year a walker she looked just like her mother if there could be another And now she's two years older her mother's with a soldier she left me when my drinking became a proper stinging the devil came and took me from bar to street to bookie no more nights by the telly no more nights nappies smelling Alone here in the kitchen i feel there's something missing i'd beg for some forgiveness but begging's not my business and she won't write a letter although i always tell her and so it's my assumption i'm really up the junction
Grupo/Interprete: The Bluebells Canción: Everybody´s Someboby´s Fool
Disco: Sister (1984)
Estilo: New Wave, Jangle pop
Grupo/Interprete: Orange Juice Canción: In a nutshell Disco: You can´t hide your love forever (1982) Estilo: New wave, Indie Pop
Grupo/Interprete: Talking Heads Canción: And she was Disco: Little Creatures (1985) Estilo: New Wave y todo eso.
And she was lying in the grass
and she could hear the highway breathing.
And she could see a nearby factory
She's making sure she is not dreaming.
See the lights of a neighbor's house
now she's starting to rise.
Take a minute to concentrate and she opens up her eyes.
The world was moving
she was right there with it and she was -
The world was moving
she was floatin' above it and she was - and she was.
And she was drifting through the backyard
And she was taking off her dress.
And she was moving very slowly
rising up above the earth.
Moving into the universe and she's drifting this way and that.
Not touching the ground at all and she's up above the yard.
The world was moving
she was right there with it and she was -
(From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/t/talking-heads-lyrics/and-she-was-lyrics.html)
The world was moving
she was floatin' above it and she was -
And she was glad about it
no doubt about it
She isn't sure about what she's done
No time to think about what to tell them
No time to think about what she's done and she was -
And she was looking at herself
and things were looking like a movie.
She had a pleasant elevation
she's moving out in all directions.
The world was moving
she was right there with it and she was -
The world was moving
she was floatin' above it and she was -
Joining the world of missing persons and she was -
Missing enough to feel alright and she was - and she was -
And she was - and she was - and she was -
and she was - and she was.
Grupo/Interprete: The Rezillos Canción: Top of the pops Disco: Can´t stand The Rezillos (1978) Estilo: Punk, New Wave
[Verse 1:]
Hold Tight - Now we're on our own
Cue light - Now it's ready to roll
Tonight - How I've waited for aggravated for years
It's fun - Oh I just can't wait
Hold on - Do I look up to date
Your on - I'll do anything if that's the right thing to see
[Bridge:]
Does it matter what is shown
Just as long as everyone knows
What is selling what to buy
The stock market for your hi-fi
[Chorus:]
Take the money - Leave the box
Everybody's on Top Of The Pops
[Verse 2:]
There's one - Born every day
Sing song - Then fade away
Ding dong - What's the future in the pop music industry
Alright - So you make the grade
Hold tight - To the buck you made
Just wait - You been rated for constipated peak viewing time
[Bridge:]
Does it matter what is shown
Just as long as everyone knows
What's in fashion what is seen
On the front of a television screen
[Chorus:]
Take the money - Leave the box
Everybody's on Top Of The Pops
[Instrumental]
[Verse 3:]
Hold Tight - Now we're on our own
Cue light - Now it's ready to roll
Tonight - How I've waited for aggravated for years
It's fun - Oh I just can't wait
Hold on - Do I look up to date
Your on - I'll do anything if that's the right thing to see
Grupo: The Go-Gos, quinteto formado en Los Angeles en 1978 y disuelto en 1985 Canción: Our lips are sealed Disco: Beauty and the Beat (1981) Primer Disco Estilo: New Wave
